Gold wherever you look: Oldenburg horses made an impressive mark in both the dressage arena and the show jumping arena at the German Amateur Championships and German Amateur Championship in Zeiskam. No fewer than four gold medals went to Oldenburg horses. But gold was not the only colour to shine: Numerous other Oldenburg horses were successful in the championships, collecting medals, placings and top-ten results. From silver and bronze to strong final placings, the results were impressive across the board.
Dressage:
Braveheart, born 2016, by Bon Coeur out of Gotin by Dancier, breeder: Klaus Gustenberg, Osnabrück, owner: Kerstin Reichling, and Valerie del Rio Pfeffer won gold in the overall standings of the German Amateur Dressage Championship after victories in the first qualifier, a Prix St. Georges, and the concluding Prix St. Georges Freestyle.
Djasper Deluxe, born 2012, by El.H. Dante Weltino out of Zierale by Quattro B, breeder: Ludger Hilgefort, Löningen, owner: Amrei Eule, was awarded silver under Amrei Eule in the overall standings of the German Amateur Championship after winning silver in the Prix St. Georges Freestyle and bronze in the first qualifier, a Prix St. Georges. Djasper Deluxe was discovered as a foal at the Summer Mixed Sales.
Baxter, born 2016, by Best of Gold out of Destiny by Dream of Glory, breeder: Benita Gercken, Oldenburg, owner: Julia zur Linden, finished eighth with Dr. Julia zur Linden in the overall standings of the German Amateur Championship. They finished sixth in the first qualifier, a Prix St. Georges.
Donna Merci, born 2016, by El.H. Dante Weltino out of Wencke by Wenckstern, breeder: Eva-Maria Kramer, Freren, owner: Daniela Dreier, and Michelle Dreier secured ninth place overall in the German Amateur Championship after winning the Small Final, a St. Georg Special*, and finishing sixth in the concluding Prix St. Georges Freestyle. Her dam Wencke also produced the S*-successful Fürst Fido by Fürst Heinrich.
Zapardo KR, born 2017, by Zalando out of El.St. Fuersttana by Fürst Heinrich, breeder: Uwe Künzig-Ritter, owner: Elena Knapp, shone with Elena Knapp by winning bronze in the Small Final of the German Amateur Championship, a St. Georg Special*.
Shetano K, born 2016, by St. Schufro out of St.Pr.St. Anna-Katrin by Belissimo M, breeder: Zuchtstall Kotschofsky GbR, Visbek, owner: Franziska Richter, danced to gold under Franziska Richter in the overall standings of the German Amateur Championship after winning the M** Freestyle. In the first qualifier, an amateur M* dressage competition, the pair also won silver.
Don Romance PS OLD, born 2016, by El.H. Dante Weltino out of El.St. Gesina by Sir Donnerhall I, breeder and owner: Gestüt Lewitz, and Natalina Reuffurth finished fifth overall in the German Amateur Championship. After finishing seventh in the first qualifier, an amateur M* dressage competition, the pair improved to fifth place in the M** Freestyle. Don Romance PS OLD has already produced two licensed sons. His dam Gesina produced, among others, the licensed stallions For Romance I OLD and II by Fürst Romancier, Feinrich by Fürst Heinrich, Candoit’s Golden Romance by Governor and Viva Romance PS OLD by Vivino, as well as their sisters, including Fasine OLD by Fürst Romancier, Champion Mare in Rastede, Bundeschampion and winner at S level in dressage, and Champion Mare Fürstin Gesine by Fürst Heinrich. Six of Gesina’s offspring have so far been successful in advanced-level dressage competitions.
Sint Maarten, born 2014, by Scuderia out of Deliana by Del Piero, breeder: Gertrud Epping, Greven, owner: Angelika Kurrelmeyer, secured sixth place with Angelika Kurrelmeyer in the overall standings of the German Amateur Championship. While the pair finished ninth in the first qualifier, an amateur M* dressage competition, they went on to finish sixth in the M** Freestyle.
Nea Bella Luna, born 2014, by Belissario out of St.Pr.St. Nea Luna by Licotus, breeder: Josef Kathmann, Hausstette, owner: Verena Krause, and Verena Krause celebrated bronze in an M* dressage competition, the Small Final of the German Amateur Championship, as well as ninth place in the M** Freestyle. Nea Bella Luna was awarded the Oldenburg Main Premium. Her dam Nea Luna also produced the Oldenburg Main Premium prospect Nea Querida by Quality Control.
Show Jumping:
Jurwinas fille, OS, born 2018, by Cornet Obolensky out of El./St.Pr.St. Jurwina by Diarado - Couleur-Rubin - Zeus, breeder and owner: Peter Wendeln, Garrel, jumped to the gold medal under Gerd Gerdes in the overall standings of the German Amateur Show Jumping Championship after the duo had already won bronze in the first and third qualifiers and finished sixth in the second qualifier, also an S* show jumping competition. Her dam Jurwina was crowned Champion Mare in Rastede in 2013. Her two offspring Jurwina's Girl and Cornet's Cash, both also by Cornet Obolensky, are successful in advanced-level show jumping.
Bounce, born 2013, by Balou du Rouet out of St.Pr.St. Ladanika by Landadel, breeder: Werner Wolf, Buchholz, owner: Verena Wolf-Richter, impressed with Verena Wolf-Richter by finishing fifth in the third qualifier, an S* show jumping competition. His siblings Lacorada by Acorado and Zero Blue by Zirocco Blue are also successful in advanced-level show jumping.
D’Artagnan, born 2011, by El.H. Dante Weltino out of St.Pr.St. Davinja by Quattro B, breeder: Harli Seifert Pferdezucht GmbH, Löningen, owner: Franziska Wolke, and Franziska Wolke won the German Amateur Championship. The pair were rewarded with gold in the final, an M** show jumping competition, after finishing fourth in the first qualifier and fifth in the second qualifier.
Cool Conversion, OS, born 2011, by Cool Man K out of Cornet's Dorada by Corbet Obolensky, breeder: Katharina Mager, Deggenhausertal, owner: Carlotta Steinbach, impressed under Carlotta Steinbach with sixth place overall in the German Amateur Championship after finishing eighth in the second qualifier, an M** show jumping competition.
Lord Lexington, OS, born 2017, by Lordanos out of La Diva by Lord Pezi, breeder: Andreas Kamphaus, Lohne, owner: Franz Gleinser, finished ninth with Franz Gleinser in the overall standings of the German Amateur Championship.
