A strong showing for Oldenburg breeding in the World Championship Grand Prix Freestyle Final: Six horses with Oldenburg roots competed among the world’s best. Three of them placed in the top ten—led by Zantana Rs2 OLD N.O.P., who took an outstanding sixth place.

Zantana RS2 OLD N.O.P. shines in sixth place

Zantana RS2 OLD N.O.P., born in 2014, by Glock’s Zonik N.O.P. out of the elite mare Sondra by Sir Donnerhall I, bred by: Lewitz Stud, owners: Jacques Lemmens and Saskia Lemmens-Reijnen, Netherlands, shone under Dutch rider Marieke van der Putten with a sixth-place finish in the Grand Prix Freestyle.

As a broodmare, the Elite mare is also impressive across the board: Zantana RS2 OLD N.O.P. is, among others, the dam of the licensed stallions Fürst Zonik PS by Fürstenball—who has since won at the advanced level under Isabel Freese—and Debutant PS OLD by Deparon, who has already caused a sensation three times at the National Championships in Warendorf. Her dam, Elite Mare Sondra, also produced the licensed stallions Total U.S. by Totilas, Zaid by Zack, Dante U.S. by Dante Weltino OLD, and Lamborghini U.S. by Lord Europe.

Maxima Bella Shines in the Top Ten

Maxima Bella, born in 2016, by Millennium/Trak. out of Ciao Bella HRH by Christ - Warkant, breeders: Heiner and Renate Hormann, Landesbergen, owners: Dominika Krasko Bialek & Sandra Sysojeva, Poland, secured ninth place in the Grand Prix Freestyle under Sandra Sysojeva. Maxima Bella had already shone at the Olympic Games in Paris, finishing 15th in the individual final.

Tenth Place for Flash Gordon

Flash Gordon, born in 2014, by Fiderbach out of Vb.Pr.St. Waldessa by Don Romantic, breeder: Jan Lüder Cornelius, Edewecht, rider: Ninja Rathjens, delivered a convincing performance under Daniel Bachmann Andersen and placed tenth.

Total Hope OLD in 13th Place

Total Hope OLD, born in 2012, by Totilas out of Weihegold by Don Schufro – Sandro Hit, breeder: Christine Arns-Krogmann, Lohne, owners: Lone Boegh-Henriksen and Paul Schockemöhle Hengsthaltung GmbH, Mühlen, finished in 13th place under Isabel Freese.

The black stallion already looks back on an impressive career: In 2019, he won bronze at the World Championships for seven-year-old dressage horses, later won the final of the Nuremberg Burg Cup, and achieved an outstanding tenth-place finish at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

As a sire, Total Hope OLD also represents one of the most significant Oldenburg dam lines. His dam, multi-champion Weihegold OLD, won, among other achievements, team gold and individual silver at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, as well as a triple gold at the 2017 European Championships in Gothenburg.

Bluetooth OLD in 15th Place

Bluetooth OLD, born in 2010, by Bordeaux out of Lorena by Riccione – Don Schufro – Ramino, bred by Gestüt Lewitz, owned by Elena and Sergey Knyaginicheva of Russia, finished in 15th place under Frederic Wandres after a successful freestyle performance.

Bluetooth OLD was already a finalist at the 2018 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo, Netherlands. His dam, Lorena, also produced Florenzo by Fürst Romancier, who was licensed in Vechta. His great-granddam, Loretta, produced the star sires Diamond Hit, Royal Hit, and Sandro Hit.

Invoice Rounds Out the Strong Oldenburg Result

Invoice, born in 2012, by Jazz out of Roxanne by Ferro – Lancer II – Chronos/T., breeder: P.J. Crum, Netherlands, owner: Alexanders Hovslageri & Hast AB, Sweden, placed 18th for Sweden with Maria von Essen.

Six horses with Oldenburg roots in the World Championship final, three among the top ten: The Grand Prix Freestyle impressively underscored the international strength and significance of Oldenburg breeding on the major dressage stage.
