The Oldenburg young dressage horses made an impressive showing at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden. With silver and bronze medals in the five-year-old dressage horse class, as well as other strong placings among the six- and seven-year-olds, they put on a brilliant performance in the finals.
Five-Year-Old Dressage Horses:
Global Amour OLD, born 2021, by Global Player out of El./St.Pr.St. Amelie by El.H. Fürstenball, breeder: Britta Budeus-Wiegert, Groß Nemerow, owner: Helgstrand Dressage A/S, Denmark, won the silver medal under Danish rider Alexander Yde Helgstrand. The licensed stallion was sold for 170,000 euros during the Oldenburg Stallion Days in Ankum. His granddam, the Elite/State Premium mare Auguste Victoria, was awarded the 1d prize at the Elite Mare Show in Rastede. Her half-brothers are the licensed stallions San Amour I and II, as well as the S-level successful Sacre Coeur by Sandro Hit.
Weihe’s Happiness OLD, born in 2021, by Dynamic Dream out of the Elite Mare Weihe’s Hope by Sir Donnerhall-Don Schufro-Sandro Hit, bred and owned by Christine Arns-Krogmann of Lohne, took the bronze medal with Alina Schneider. Weihe’s Happiness OLD had already secured the reserve title at the Oldenburg Elite Mare Show in Rastede and won gold at the National Championship for four-year-old riding horses in Warendorf. Her dam, Weihe’s Hope, has already produced the premium stallion L’avenir by Le Formidable as well as the licensed Everglow Gold by Escolar. She is also the dam of the Brillantring mare Weihkjenta OLD by Kjento and of Spirit of Hope by Seacrest, the winning foal at the German Foal Championships in Lienen. Her grandmother is none other than the Oldenburg multi-champion Weihegold OLD, who paraded as the champion mare in Rasteder Schlosspark in 2008 and, among other achievements, won team gold at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Six-Year-Old Dressage Horses:
Lodovico OLD, born in 2020, by Lord Europe out of Mispel by Don Frederic, bred by Wieghaus-Vorwerk GbR, Neuenkirchen-Vörden, owned by Amely Baronin von Buchholtz, Argentina, and Beatrice Hoffrogge, placed eleventh. Last year, Lodovico OLD was celebrated as the National Champion among five-year-old dressage horses under Lena Hassmann. His granddam, the elite mare Monita, produced the licensed stallion Fire Jazz when paired with Fürst Jazz.
Viva Diamond OLD, born in 2020, by the elite stallion Vitalis out of the elite mare Zauberhaft by Don Diamond, bred by: Zuchthof Alberding, Essen; trainer: 360° Sportpferde, Duisburg, shone in fourth place under Linda Weiß. Viva Diamond OLD competed at the Elite Mare Show in Rastede, where she was awarded the 1c premium. Her dam also produced the S-level successful Don Lucatoni by Dimaggio and Verona Diamond OLD by Vivaldi.
Seven-year-old dressage horses:
La Jolie SW OLD, born 2019, by Escamillo out of St.Pr.St. Laissez-Fair by Londonderry, breeder and owner: Sabine Wehle, Rabenau, placed eleventh with Carina Scholz. La Jolie was awarded Oldenburg’s main premium qualification as part of her mare performance test. Her siblings Dottore W and Di Lorenzo by De Niro are successful in the advanced class.
Schatzmeister MZ OLD, born in 2019, by Secret out of the Elite/OLH Premium Mare Elfenperle by De Niro, breeder: Ewald Grotelüschen, Wardenburg; owner: Mandy Zimmer, Luxembourg, and Ann-Christin Wienkamp, impressed in sixth place. Her dam, Elfenperle, was awarded the 1g premium at the Elite Mare Show in Rastede. Her son, Independent by Ibiza, paraded as a premium stallion last year at the Oldenburg Stallion Days at the Vechta Equestrian Center, and his full sister, Ewald’s Elfe, was the celebrated champion foal at the German Foal Championship in Lienen.
