28,000 euros for Corchav SV – all nine elite jumping foals find new owners
What a debut: The first KUP meets Oldenburg – Elite Jumping Foals Auction celebrated a sensational debut on Friday, August 7, as part of KUP Familie & Sports. All nine Elite show jumping foals offered for sale were sold—a 100 percent sell-through rate. Exciting bidding wars, great interest in the inaugural collection, and a top price of 28,000 euros made the first joint auction evening an impressive success.
The top price went to Lot No. 7, Corchav SV by Cornet Obolensky – Chacco-Blue – Balou du Rouet, which was sold for 28,000 euros. A world-class pedigree: the top stallion Cornet Obolensky, a guarantee of talent and jumping power, meets the equally influential Chacco-Blue—two of the most significant names in international show jumping breeding united in a promising young talent.
Corchav SV also boasts a top-class pedigree on the dam’s side. Her dam, Chacatella PS, is a sister to Chacella by Chacco-Blue—who placed at the 1.45-meter level—and to S&L Libster 123 by Elvis ter Putte. Granddam Catouet is a sister to Lira by Lord Pezi, who was successful at the 1.40-meter level, and Calotta by Lord Pezi. The renowned line 6582 has also produced the stallions Calypso I through IV and Askari, as well as international 1.60-meter stars such as Coco Bongo/Eric Lamaze and Aretino/Gilles Thomas.
Cat. No. 2, Casablanca by Casallco – Chacco-Blue – Carthago, was also in high demand and found a new owner for 20,000 euros. Cat. No. 9, Olympia by Ogano Sitte – Cellestial – Levisto, was sold for 18,000 euros. Cat. No. 1 Unique Way by United Touch – Uriko – Cassini I changed hands for 16,000 euros.
The results of this premiere impressively underscore the strong demand: All nine foals offered were sold, generating total sales of 148,500 euros. The average price was 16,500 euros. All of the young talents found new owners in Germany.
The combination of top-class show jumping, international show jumping breeding, and exclusive marketing proved to be the ideal stage for the premiere. Together with KUP Familie & Sports, the Oldenburg Horse Breeders’ Association sent a strong signal for the marketing of tomorrow’s show jumping stars with this new auction format.
Nine foals, nine successful bids, 100 percent sold—a sensational debut for “KUP meets Oldenburg” and a premiere that leaves us wanting more.
