At the Görlitz leg of the “DERBY Stars of Tomorrow” series, Maxi Kraft’s Barcelo OLD by Bon Coeur – Caprimond/T. secured the title of best Oldenburg horse in the competition. Ridden by Dorothee Schneider, the licensed Oldenburg stallion won both the Intermediaire II—the preliminary test for semifinal qualification—and the S***-level dressage test, which served as the qualifying test for the semifinals.
The stallion, born in 2016, was bred by Kristine Munch Nielsen of Denmark and is owned by Maik Kanitzky.
Maxi Kraft’s Barcelo OLD has been one of the flagship horses of Oldenburg dressage breeding for years. After his licensing in Vechta in 2018, he won the National Championship for six-year-old dressage horses in 2022 under Tessa Frank. This season, he has already celebrated victory in the Grand Prix of the German Dressage and Show Jumping Derby in Hamburg under Dorothee Schneider and is now impressively continuing his winning streak in Görlitz.
On his dam’s side as well, Maxi Kraft’s Barcelo OLD combines the finest dressage genetics. His dam, Atterupgaards Dicte, has already produced several licensed stallions and is also the sister of the Olympic horse Atterupgaards Cassidy, who, under Cathrine Dufour, was one of the most successful dressage horses of his generation.
As part of the “DERBY Stars of Tomorrow” series, the best Oldenburg horse is given special recognition at each qualifying event. The goal is to specifically highlight the quality and performance capabilities of Oldenburg horses in junior Grand Prix competition.
