With two outstanding sales, the Elite Foal Tournament Auction made a strong impression at the Oldenburg State Championships powered by DERBY in Höven. Top-quality foals in both the dressage and show jumping lots impressed buyers and achieved top prices in each category.

Among the dressage foals, Venice, born April 6, 2026, by Verbier out of the elite mare Uthinga by Stedinger-De Niro-Figaro, bred by Helmut Kleen of Bad Zwischenahn and owned by the Kleen family of Bad Zwischenahn, was one of the most sought-after young prospects of the day. This beautifully conformationed and elegant daughter of the Oldenburg Champion Stallion and Grand Premium winner Verbier was sold for 20,500 euros to a sport stable in Lower Saxony. Her dam, Uthinga, previously produced the 2022 Oldenburg Champion Mare Benice by Benefit, who also began her career as a foal at the Vechta Auction. Her grandmother, Unique, is a sister to the Grand Prix star Dandelion OLD. The Uthoba line has produced, among others, the Grand Prix-successful Gut Wettlkam’s Stand by me OLD, Sandro Boy, and Olympic star Jimmie Choo.

The show jumping foal Crystal Ice, born March 24, 2026, by Challasco Blue PS out of Tounessa by Toulon-Contendro I-Grand Ferdinand II, was sold for an equally remarkable price. Breeders: Hannes Otto Tapken, Garrel, breeder: Rainer Tapken, Garrel, which was also sold for 20,500 euros to a highly decorated training stable in the neighborhood. The son of the Oldenburg State Champion and stallion performance test winner Challasco Blue PS impressed with plenty of power and athletic potential. The dam line is also highly successful: Tounessa has already produced Stolze Marie by Stolzenberg, who was successful up to 1.45 m, as well as Hickstead, who was sold at auction to Hamburg. She is also the sister of Stonsdorfer, who was successful at the 1.55 m level, and Tinderrella, who was successful at the 1.45 m level. Her dam, Contessa O, is the sister of no fewer than five show jumpers successful at the S-level, including Queenessa Verdi and Llandovery.

This successful debut of the auction in Höven generated total sales of 291,500 euros, and with an average price of 11,212 euros, it clearly demonstrated that the new event format has been very well received. The international interest in the lots, the positive atmosphere with high visitor turnout despite changeable weather, and the excellent sales results underscored the successful launch and left everyone looking forward to the next event.
