The first title winners on the course were determined at the Oldenburg State Championships in Höven during the finale of the Youngster Tour, an S*-level show jumping competition.

The victory—and with it the title of Oldenburg State Champion—went to Ikarus Spumante OLD, OS, born in 2018, by I’m Special de Muze out of Edelstein by Argentinus—Landfrieden, bred by Irmgard Nienaber, Garrel, owned by Hermann Nienaber, Garrel, and ridden by Hartwig Rohde. Having already secured the silver medal as a four-year-old, he managed to reach the top for the first time as a six-year-old. This success is no accident. The stallion comes from a high-performing family that includes, among others, Asti Spumante—who won at the 1.60 m level with Thomas Mühlbauer—Kingston, who was successful at the 1.50 m level with Lars Nieberg, and Edelweiss, who was successful at the 1.45 m level under Uma O’Neill (NZL). In addition, Ikarus Spumante had already qualified for the 2023 National Championships.

The silver medal went to Euphoria, a gelding born in 2018, by Eldorado van de Zeshoek out of Contendro I, bred by Hannes Brüning, owned by Hinerk and Jörgen Köhlbrandt of Fehmarn, with Malin Reipert in the saddle.

Bronze went to Update, OS, born in 2018, by Untouchable out of Marbella van’t Roosacker by Echo van’t Spieveld, breeder: Urs Appert, Switzerland, owners: Johannes Westendarp, Wallenhorst, and Mathis Westendarp. His dam, Marbella van’t Roosacker, also gave birth to the licensed Dourkhan’s All In by Dourkhan Hero Z, who was discovered at the stallion market at the Oldenburg Horse Center in Vechta.
