Despite midsummer temperatures exceeding 30 degrees, the Oldenburg Elite Foal Tournament Auction celebrated a successful debut at the Steinhagen Equestrian Festival. Numerous visitors watched the presentation of the young talents as well as the subsequent live-only auction. Seven carefully selected elite foals were auctioned off by auctioneer Christoph Rowold.
The top price went to Lot No. 2, Chalou Hero by Chaloubino PS – C-Indoctro. The promising show jumping stallion prospect was sold for 11,000 euros. The dam of the top foal is a full sister to the show jumper Gentlemen, who was successful up to 1.45 meters under Victor Pantin Cadilla (ESP). The maternal line also produced the licensed show jumper Imposante van de Renger by Comme il faut, who was successful up to 1.60 meters under Ines Joly (FRA), as well as numerous other internationally successful show jumpers.
The buyers of the elite foals sold at auction were exclusively from Germany. The Celle State Stud secured a promising stallion prospect for further breeding with Lot No. 3, Lord Fürstano S by Lord Charmeur – Destano. “We look forward to seeing this stallion prospect again in two years at the licensing inspection in Vechta,” explained Roland Metz. The auction generated total sales of 57,500 euros. The average price was 8,214 euros.

The Steinhagen Equestrian Days offer an excellent platform for combining sport and breeding.
