Despite changeable weather, the atmosphere at the 15th Oldenburg Special Edition at the Oldenburg Horse Center in Vechta was excellent. Even before the auction began, numerous visitors took the opportunity to mingle over live music and free beer, before a high-quality collection of foals ensured a thoroughly successful auction evening.
Customers responded to the collection’s quality with strong buying interest and numerous bidding wars. The results speak for themselves: with a sales rate of 96.5 percent, nearly the entire collection found new owners. The jumping foals impressed across the board and even achieved a 100 percent sales rate. In total, the collection generated sales of 312,000 euros at an average price of 10,759 euros. Eight foals will grow up abroad in the future.
Cat. No. 1 Best of Bonds by Bonds – Vitalis, bred by Katrin Krüger of Fischerhude, emerged as the top-priced dressage foal. This agile son of the Vechta champion stallion Bonds was sold to new buyers for 33,500 euros. With his modern conformation and outstanding movements, he captivated the buyers and confidently led the dressage collection.
Particularly pleasing: Regular customers from the Netherlands secured two top Oldenburg foals, thereby underscoring their continued strong confidence in Oldenburg breeding.
Among the jumping foals, Cat. No. 16 Cador de Revel S by Cador – Quidam de Revel, bred by Gregor Sieverding of Westerbakum, was one of the most sought-after young talents of the evening. The athletic-looking colt with a powerful canter was sold to a renowned Oldenburg stallion owner.
Lot No. 19, Casaltina by Casallco – Conthargos, bred by Bernd Huslage of Brokstreek, emerged as the top-priced jumping foal. The expressive daughter of the internationally successful Casallco impressed the bidders and was sold to Belgium for 11,500 euros.
The outstanding quality of the collection, the brisk demand from the first to the last lot, and the enthusiastic bidders ensured an excellent auction result. The 15th Oldenburg Special Edition once again confirmed the appeal of Oldenburg and OS young stars among customers from Germany and abroad.
