As early as today, Saturday, our Oldenburg athletes won medals in both the dressage arena and the show jumping course at the German Championships in Balve.

Dressage:

Bluetooth OLD, born 2010, by Bordeaux out of Lorena by Riccione – Don Schufro – Ramino, bred by Gestüt Lewitz, owned by Elena and Sergey Knyaginicheva, Russia, celebrated the silver medal in the Grand Prix Special alongside his longtime rider Frederic Wandres, just as they did last year. “He is one of the older horses in today’s field. Yet he is very consistent, and I can always get the best out of him. He was fresher today than in the Grand Prix, and I am—despite a small mistake in the flying changes—very satisfied. It was a very energetic and good round,” said a delighted Frederic Wandres. Bluetooth OLD was a finalist at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo, Netherlands, in 2018. His dam, Lorena, also produced Florenzo by Fürst Romancier, who was licensed in Vechta. His great-granddam, Loretta, produced the star sires Diamond Hit, Royal Hit, and Sandro Hit.

Dante’s Pearl OLD, born 2015, by El.H. Dante Weltino out of El./Vb.Pr.St. Lady Chapeau by San Amour I – Sandro Hit, breeder: Kerstin de Neui, Dollart, rider: Caroline-Marie Scheufele, won the bronze medal in the Grand Prix Special with Charlott-Maria Schürmann. “Pearli is an absolute gift. I enjoy every minute with her because she is my once-in-a-lifetime horse. I am very proud of her development. We’re maturing from test to test, and I’m very happy that we’ve been on this journey together for five years,” gushed Charlott-Maria Schürmann. Lady Chapeau has already produced three Oldenburg Premier Prize mares or candidates: Ladies Night by Follow Me, Emirates by Escolar, and Lady K by Total McLaren.

Viva Gold OLD, born 2016, by Vivaldi out of El.OLHPrSt. Weihronce by For Romance I – Don Schufro – Sandro Hit, bred by Christine Arns-Krogmann, Lohne, owned by Gestüt Westfalenhof and Madeleine Winter-Schulze, and ridden by Isabell Werth, delivered the second-best result in the Grand Prix Special. Her dam, Weihronce, is an international Prix St. Georg winner, the dam of three licensed sons as well as Oldenburg Grand Prize mares, and a daughter of Weihegold OLD. Viva Gold was sold as the top-priced foal at the Summer Mixed Sales.
