Oldenburg dressage horses once again demonstrated their outstanding form at the next stops of the renowned “DERBY Stars of Tomorrow” series, celebrating significant successes in Karlsfeld and Mettmann.
At the qualifier on May 3 in Karlsfeld, the Oldenburg Association provided both the winner of the class and the best Oldenburg horse: Henriettenhof’s Kinshasa OLD (by Bordeaux – Sir Donnerhall) won the class with ease under her rider and owner Franz Trischberger. The breeder of the successful Oldenburg mare is Dr. Alexandra Montkowski from Colnrade.
Henriettenhof’s Kinshasa OLD is already well known in the dressage arena: together with Franz Trischberger, she was a finalist in the 2024 Nuremberg Burg Cup in Frankfurt. Her pedigree is also impressive across the board. Her dam, Henriettenhof’s Kelia, is an Elite mare and produced, among others, the Grand Prize daughter Henriettenhof’s Karoo by Majestic Taonga as well as the licensed stallion Goldball by Goldberg. The direct line also includes the former Vechta auction horse and two-time Bundeschampionat finalist XXXL Fairytale OLD by Fidertanz, ridden by Isabel Freese, as well as Kimbaya by Laurentio, who was successful up to S** level. This high-performing mare family descends from the traditional Oldenburg Kaetchen-Kateste line.
An Oldenburg horse also achieved an outstanding result at the qualifier held on the same day in Mettmann. Villazon OLD by Vivaldi – Regazzoni took a strong third place under Sophie Jamar (BEL), making him the best Oldenburg horse at this stop. Villazon OLD is owned by Ilse Bresges-Krienke from Erftstadt and was bred by Janne Schäfer from Bissendorf.
Villazon OLD made a name for himself in the sport at a young age. The talented Oldenburg horse was a finalist at the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf at both six and seven years of age. Particularly noteworthy is his performance in the final for six-year-old dressage horses, where he narrowly missed a podium finish and took an outstanding fourth place.
As part of the “DERBY Stars of Tomorrow” series, the best Oldenburg horse in each qualifier is specially highlighted. In this way, the Oldenburg Association consistently underscores the exceptional quality and performance of Oldenburg dressage horse breeding in international sport.
The next qualifier in the series will take place on May 14 as part of Pferd International in Munich-Riem.
The Oldenburg Association warmly congratulates all riders, owners, and breeders on these successes and wishes them continued success for the upcoming rounds of the series.
