The first Oldenburg ‘Save the Future’ online auction ended with solid results. Just a few days after the Oldenburg Special Edition, Oldenburg Horse Marketing GmbH tested this new format. From more than 60 embryos, the Vechta auction team put together a top-class collection from the traditional, successful Oldenburg dam lines in both dressage and show jumping.
The highest price at this auction was achieved by the implanted embryo of the reigning European Champion United Touch S by Our Kiss Way out of Uriko-Cassini I-Caretino, bred by Hartwig Schoof, Hedwigenkoog, from the Wodka dam line, which was sold to Finland for €16,500. The granddam of this embryo, T-Cassina, produced, among others, the 1.60 m championship stallion Uricas van de Kattenvennen by Uriko, ridden by Harrie Smolders, NED, and the also licensed and successful 1.60 m show jumper My Way by Mylord Carthago/Luiz Francisco de Azevedo, BRA.
Among the dressage-oriented embryos, two in particular attracted a great deal of interest. The two offspring from the highly successful Gesina line changed hands for €14,000 each.
The offspring of the Nuremberg Burg Cup winner and elite stallion Vitalis, out of the elite and Oldenburg main premium and Brillantring mare Best of Mount St. John by Fürst Romancier-Bordeaux-Sir Donnerhall I, will see the light of day in southern Germany in just a few months. Dam Best of Mount St. John, who was placed in the final of the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf, is the sister of the licensed MSJ Q by Quantensprung. Granddam Best of All is successful in Prix St. Georges competitions with British rider Emma Jane Blundell and is the sister of ten licensed stallions, including star sire For Romance I.
Furthermore, after an exciting bidding war, the offspring of Vice World Champion Secret, who is also the sire of numerous top dressage horses for international championships and licensing venues, will find a new home in Denmark. Dam Gelisa PS produced an approved son by Jameson RS2 and is the sister of ten approved stallions, including For Romance I.
We wish the buyers a smooth pregnancy and an uncomplicated birth, and look forward to seeing these special offspring again at one of our future events.
