Assesing the Jumping Ability in Free Jumping
The Mare Performance Test for the jumping orientated mares begins with free running and free jumping. Afterwards, the mares are presented in the basic gaits under their own rider, in an age appropriate manner. A test rider then checks the rideability. The individual training level of the horse is considered at all times. There are always at least two rider/horse pairs in the arena at the same time. After the presentation under the rider, the mares are finally judged at a walk in hand in a walking ring.
Age: At the Vechta location: three- and four-year-old mares. Five-year-old and older mares must complete the Mare Performance Test with Showjumping course. Participants with four-year-old mares are free to choose which test form they wish to take.
Depending on their quality, mares can be entered in the stud book with a Verbandsprämie (Premium Award) or an application for the Oldenburger Hauptprämie (Main Premium Award) In addition, invitations to the Elite Show in the Rastede castle park can be issued during all appointments up to July during the large Oldenburg State Show.
