Mare Performance Test with
a Focus on Dressage
The Mare Performance Test begins with the free running of the mares. After that, the mares are presented in the three basic gaits under their own rider, in an age-appropriate manner. A test rider is on hand to assess the mares' rideability. The individual training level of the horse is considered at all times. There are always at least two rider/horse pairs in the arena at the same time. After being presented under the rider, the mares are then judged walking in hand in a walking ring.
Depending on their quality, mares can be awarded a Verbandsprämie (Premium Award) or a nomination for the Oldenburger Hauptprämie (Main Premium Award) in addition to being entered in the Stud Book. In addition, for all appointments up to July, invitations to the Elite Mare Show at the Rastede Castle Park during the large Oldenburg State Show can be issued.
