An der Weltspitze: Weihegold OLD und Isabell Werth be-
geisterten die Reitsportszene mit ihren phänomenalen
Auftritten. Bei den Olympischen Spielen in Rio de Janeiro gewann
das Paar Mannschaftsgold und Einzelsilber. Im Grand Prix erhielt
Weihegold OLD 80,643 Prozent und im Grand Prix Special 83,711
Prozent, dieTagesbestleistung. Weihegold OLD und Isabell Werth
erlaubten sich im Grand Prix Special nicht den kleinsten Fehler
und bestachen Zuschauer und Richter mit einem Ritt voller Leich-
tigkeit, Harmonie und Korrektheit sowie mit Höhepunkten in der
Piaff-Passage-Tour.
Passend zu den Klängen des Schlagers „Tanze Samba mit mir“
brillierte das Dreamteam mit seinem persönlichen Rekordergeb-
nis von 89,071 Prozent in der abschließenden Grand Prix Kür bei
den Olympischen Spielen und gewann die Silbermedaille.
„Das war einfach phantastisch, etwas ganz Besonderes, was man
so nicht erwarten konnte“, sagte eine strahlende IsabellWerth. „Ich
kenne zwarWeihe schon mehrere Jahre, hatte aber eigentlich nur
acht Monate, um mit ihr zusammenzuwachsen. Die Erfahrungen,
die wir in Aachen gesammelt haben, waren ganz wichtig. Es war
ein heißer Tag heute in Rio. Es ist schwierig für die Pferde, mit
diesen verschiedenenTemperaturen hier umzugehen, aber sie ha-
ben das ganz fantastisch gemacht.“
Mit gerade einmal elf Jahren erobertWeihegold OLD in ihrer noch
jungen Karriere die Dressurwelt. Eine Karriere, wie aus dem Bil-
derbuch der modernen Reitpferdezucht.
Dreijährig paradierte die Rappstute 2008 als Siegerstute auf der
Elite-Stutenschau in Rastede und ihr Name war sofort in aller
Munde. Ein Jahr später sicherte sie sich die Bronzemedaille auf
dem Bundeschampionat inWarendorf und konnte sich fünfjährig
sogar im Finale der Weltmeisterschaften der jungen Dressurpfer-
de platzieren. Seit 2012 sammelte die Multichampionesse Spor-
terfolge wie keine zweite Stute neben ihr.
Weihegold OLD hat auch als Mutterstute eine Bilanz vorzuweisen,
die ihresgleichen sucht. Mit Sir Weihbach, geb. 2009, v. Sir Don-
Best in the world: with their phenomenal performances,Wei-
hegold OLD and IsabellWerth were always eye-catchers on
the dressage scene.The couple won team gold and individual sil-
ver at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Weihegold OLD was
awarded 80.643 percent in the Grand Prix and 83.711 percent in
the Grand Prix Special, the best score of the day. Weihegold OLD
and Isabell Werth didn’t make even the smallest mistake in the
Grand Prix Special. The lightness, harmony and correctness of
their ride, including an outstanding piaffe-passage tour, captivat-
ed not only the audience but also the judges.
To the tune of an old German hit “Tanze Samba mit mir” [Dance
Samba with Me], the dream team even managed to achieve a new
personal record of 89.071 percent in the concluding Grand Prix
Freestyle which ensured them the silver medal at the Olympic
Games.
“It was just fantastic, something simply extraordinary that I
couldn’t have expected at all”, said a radiant Isabell Werth. “I’ve
known Weihe for several years now but we really only had eight
months to get to know each other intimately. The experience we
gained in Aachen was also very important. It was a hot day today
in Rio. It’s difficult for the horses to deal with the differing tem-
peratures here but somehow they managed quite well anyway.”
At the age of just eleven, in a career that is still young, Weihegold
OLD has achieved the highest honors in the dressage world. Her
career seems to be out of a story book about modern riding horse
breeding.
As a three-year old, the black mare took the Champion Mare title
at the 2008 Elite Broodmare Show in Rastede and immediately,
everyone knew her name and talked about her. A year later she
took bronze at the Bundeschampionat inWarendorf. As a five-year
old she also placed in the Final of the World Championships for
young dressage horses inVerden. Since 2012, the multi-champion
mare has collected more ribbons in sport than any other mare.
