Stud farms and Olympic riders stock up in Vechta

Many sports stables, including Olympic riders, secured top-class young horses in both categories.

The champion stallion of the Oldenburg Horse Breeders' Association (OL), a jet-black son of Bonds out of the elite and state premium mare Faszination by Diamond Hit-Florencio I-Santander H, bred by Hans and Britta Scherbring, Visbek, and owned by Anne Haase, Ottersberg, was sold for €360,000 to the renowned stallion station Lövsta Stutteri in Sweden. Anne Haase, Ottersberg, was sold to the renowned Lövsta Stutteri stud in Sweden.

The second most expensive bid in the dressage lot went to two premium stallions: The 1C-premium black stallion by For Romance I out of the Oldenburg main premium mare Rosenherz by Floriscount-Rohdiamant-Lauries Crusador, bred by Monika Quarz, Friesoythe, owned by BG Ifversen and A. Schwierking, Barver, is going to an up-and-coming stud in Lower Saxony and cost €130,000, as did the 1D-premium son of St. Emilion out of San Explosion by San Amour I-Lamerto H-Florestan I, bred by Silvia Zeyn, Langwedel, owned by Christoph Wahler, Bad Beversen, who will continue his career at a sports stable in the Netherlands.

Customers from Switzerland invested €72,000 in the winning stallion of the OS Association by Kasanova de la Pomme out of Miley van de Zwethove by Apardi-Cassini II-Jasper, bred by C.G.J. De Gier, Netherlands, owned by Schep International Trade BV, Netherlands, customers from Switzerland bid €72,000. He was sold via the online portal Horse24 by auctioneer Christoph F. Rowold.
Stutteria Zangersheide secured the OS Reserve Champion by Asterix de Couleur out of Nea's Caretina by Caretinus-Controller-Zeus, bred by Josef Kathmann, Hausstette, and owned by Zuchthof Kathmann, Hausstette, for €55,000.

The dressage stallions of the OL Association generated a total of €2,008,500. On average, a little over €72,000 had to be invested for a licensed stallion, while the unlicensed stallions cost €26,200 on average.
The OS stallions achieved a total turnover of €807,500. The average price for licensed stallions settled at just under €48,000. For unlicensed stallions, the average price was around €15,000.
