
Benicio and Sarai set the price highlights
The licensed stallion and bronze medal winner of the Oldenburg State Championships Brut d'Argent, born in 2022, by Benicio out of Delphi by MH by Vivaldi-Don Davidoff, bred by Frank Kolbeck from Steinfeld and owned by the Klose, Hess, Lantemann, Mimberg from Bielefeld, trots to the top price at the 104th Autumn Elite Auction. After an exciting bidding duel, he was sold for €85,000 by auctioneer Christoph F. Rowold to a dressage stable in Bavaria. Brut d'Argent's dam is a sister to Grand Prix winner Sir Davidoff by Raphael Netz. Granddam Dubai is a sister to Grand Prix star Di Sandro OLD, ridden by Austrian Diana Porsche.
The most expensive offer for the show jumpers was for the gray gelding Chadwick, born in 2021, by Chartago Blue out of Bella by Chlodwig-Levantos I, bred and owned by Bernhard Hegger, Löningen. He will move to the stable of an ambitious female rider from Lower Saxony for €36,000. His brother Antony by Armison celebrated victories in 1.20 m courses at the age of five. This line also produced the 1.50 m winner Corisanto, who was discovered in Vechta.
The top foal Sir Woods by Sarai L out of Valentina PS by Vivaldi - El.H. Bretton Woods, bred and owned by Dieter Bloms, Hopsten, was sold to a stallion breeder for €30,000. His sister Emilia by Escanto PS moved to Poland in 2024 for a top price. Toskara is a sister of the progenitor, world champion and two-time Bundeschampion Don Davidoff/Dr. Ulf Möller, as well as the Grand Prix-successful Sir Rubinus/L. Poncelet, BEL, and the Prix St. Georges-successful Tosko/T. Fischer, Seine Toska/M.-E. Tourkomani, GRE, Sakria/T. Goode, GBR, Davidoff/V. Siep, and Toskira RS2, dam of the licensed Versaille.
The top price for jumping foals went to Enrico Caruso HJ, by Ermitage Kalone out of Wien by Casiro I-Sandro, bred and owned by Helma Jaspers-Bruns, Haren, who will be raised and trained by an international show jumper. His siblings Kansas FZ and Kannantos, both by Kannan, as well as Mr Big Cash by Cash H are celebrating 1.40 m successes. Dam Wien is the sister of the stallions Castelan I and II, both by Casiro I, as well as Chello I and II, both by Contender.
Auction manager and managing director of Oldenburger Pferde-Vermarktungs GmbH Roland Metz: “Considering the market situation, I am satisfied with the sales rate for foals and am particularly looking forward to hopefully seeing our top-priced horses again at the licensing. However, we would have liked to see higher prices for riding horses.”
The average price of the high-quality riding horse collection settled at just under €25,000. Total sales amounted to €716,000.
The elite foals achieved an average price of just under €11,000 and total sales of €415,000.
