Thermochip with temperature measurement function

Since 2009, the identification of horses using a microchip has been legally required. The new thermo chip from MSD Tiergesundheit now allows not only the individual identification oh horses based on an identification number but also a contactless and stress-free temperature measurement at the implant site in just a few seconds.

The benefits of this innovative microchip are remarkable. Especially in larger herds, temperature measurements can be effortlessly performed, thus optimizing the health monitoring of the horses and relieving humans in their care and supervision. The chip has a diameter of 2.1 mm, a length of 13 mm, and is encased in a glass cylinder, ensuring optimal protection and biocompatibility.

The chip can be read, including temperature measurement, using two different readers:

suitable for reading all common microchips
automatically shuts off after 30 seconds

stores up to 3,000 records
compatible with all microchip technologies

Advance registration is not required for the thermo chip at official foal registration dates. Advance registration is only necessary if the foal is to be chipped during a stable visit. Of course, there is also the option to order the thermo chip at any time to have your foal comfortably chipped by a veterinarian at home. The chip costs 8.00 euros plus shipping costs.
