Im Stall des Mannschaftsgoldmedaillen-Gewinners der Olympischen Spiele von Athen und Peking beheimatet, plat- zierten sich Noche de Ronda und McLain Ward gleich bei ihrem ersten gemeinsamen internationalen Turniereinsatz 2019 beim CSI***** in Wellington in einer 1,55 m-Springprüfung unter den Top-Ten. „Wir haben sie im März bei dem Mexikaner Manuel Le- cuona gekauft, der sie ausgebildet hat, seitdem sie vier Jahre alt ist. Nun bilden wir die Stute noch die letzten Schritte weiter aus“, berichtete McLainWard damals. WU R Z E L N AN D E R NO R D S E E Noche de Ronda erblickte als erstes Fohlen von Ritschina Rat- schione in Wilhelmshaven bei Anke Richter-Irps und ihrem Mann Ralf Tiefenthal das Licht der Welt. „Noche de Ronda hieß bei uns Ramba Zamba RT. Während ihrer Aufzucht war sie immer un- kompliziert, menschenbezogen und eine Seele von Pferd. Noche de Ronda and American rider McLainWard, who won team gold for the USA at the Olympic Games in Athens and Beijing, came in among the top ten in their first international appearance together in a 1.55 m test at the CSI***** inWellington in 2019. “We bought her from Manuel Lecuona, who started training her when she was four.We’re now putting on the finishing touches,” said McLainWard at the time. NORTH S E A ROOT S Noche de Ronda, born at the stables of Anke Richter-Irps and her husband Ralf Tiefenthal in Wilhelmshaven, was the first foal of Ritschina Ratschione. “Here, Noche de Ronda was called Ramba Zamba RT,” says Anke Richter-Irps. “During her time here she was always easy-going, sociable, and a lovely horse. Our only worry at the beginning was that she wouldn’t stop growing.
