Exciting Bidding Duel

11.07.2025

A thrilling bidding duel unfolded between customers from the Netherlands and Germany for the top-priced dressage foal at the 4th Oldenburg Online Foal Auction.

Ultimately selling for €19,000, the expressive colt prospect Molto bene by Morricone I out of Shanelle by San Amour I–Donnerhall, bred by Andrea Kauert from Bremen, was secured by a buyer from Germany. His sire, the Oldenburg licensing champion and Nürnberger Burg-Pokal finalist Morricone I, is currently impressing under saddle with outstanding progeny and has meanwhile celebrated victories at Grand Prix level himself. The dam Shanelle also enjoyed success up to medium level in dressage sport before embarking on her breeding career. Granddam Duchesse is the full sister of Cartier by Sir Donnerhall I, who was successful at Grand Prix level under Stephano Enrico Blasi, and Sir Hawkby Sir Donnerhall I, who competed successfully at Intermediaire I level with Natalie Dückers.

The top-priced show jumping foal was a particularly special colt prospect. Doland GH, a son of Drummer 2000 TN Z – full brother to Don’t Touch Tiji Hero, sire of Dourkhan Hero Z – remains in Germany after being sold for €11,500. His dam Eldograna is the sister of Chaccart PS by Chacco-Blue, who was successful up to 1.45 m under Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA), and Chacgran PS by Chac Boy, who competed up to 1.50 m with Oleksandr Prodan (UKR). Granddam Quick Granny is the sister of nine internationally successful show jumpers at advanced level, including Markopoulo (1.60 m) with Cian O’Connor (IRL) and Costa Quick PS (1.60 m) with Mario Deslauriers (CAN).

Once again, this auction saw Oldenburg foals find new homes with international customers, including in the USA and Estonia.
