Celebrated Oldenburg Main Premium Winners

Bon Bolero OLD and Comanchero shine as celebrated winners of the Oldenburg Main Premium. The evaluation for awarding the Main Premium includes not only the development of the stallion but also the results of the stallion performance test and, most importantly, the quality of the first crop of foals assessed during the progeny inspection.

The R+V VTV General Agency Heiko Meinen, specializing in animal insurance, generously rewarded the breeder and owner with a check for €1,000.

The celebrated Main Premium winner of the Verband der Züchter des Oldenburger Pferdes (OL) is Bon Bolero OLD, born in 2020, by Bon Vivaldi out of Finele by Fürst Romancier - Rubin-Royal, bred by Matthias Alexander Krug, Butzbach, and owned by Heinz Ahlers, Hatten. In 2023, the bay stallion was licensed at the Oldenburg Stallion Days in Vechta. The same year, the dynamic mover completed his short stallion performance test with an overall score of 9.05, earning a 9.5 for rideability, 9.2 for canter, and 9.0 for willingness to perform. His sport test in Münster concluded with a score of 8.9. Under the training of Eike Bewerungen, Bon Bolero OLD reached the finals of the Bundeschampionat both as a three- and four-year-old. As a three-year-old, he won the title of Oldenburg State Champion and became Vice State Champion at four. Bon Bolero has already sired several elite auction foals for the Vechta auctions.

The silver medal among the dressage-focused stallions went to V-Power, born in 2020, by Viva Gold out of Finess by Fidertanz - Show Star, bred by Bernd Göke, Hamm, and owned by Helgstrand Dressage, Denmark. V-Power was the champion stallion in Münster-Handorf in 2022. In 2023, he achieved a score of 8.14 in his short stallion performance test, with an 8.8 for canter and an 8.4 for willingness to perform. Later that year, he completed his 35-day test in Denmark with 831 points. V-Power has already sired high-priced elite foals for the Vechta auctions. His dam, Finess, also produced the licensed stallion Belmore by Belissimo M, who has achieved international Grand Prix success with Finland’s Joanna Robinson.

Fiji, born in 2020, by For Romance I out of Happy-Times ZB by Charmeur - Goodtimes, bred by Stal Zwaansbroek Bv, Netherlands, and owned by Reesink Horses, Netherlands, earned the bronze medal. Fiji was licensed in 2023 at the Oldenburg Stallion Days in Vechta. The bay stallion completed his sport test in Verden in 2024 with an overall score of 8.21. His walk and rideability received scores of 8.5. Fiji’s dam, Happy-Times ZB, is a sister of the internationally successful Grand Prix horse Crocket Times by Sorento.

The Main Premium winner of the Springpferdezuchtverband Oldenburg-International (OS) is Comanchero, born in 2018, by Comme Prévu out of Lady Heida II by Landor S - Contender - Furioso II, bred and owned by Gerd Sosath, Lemwerder. The black stallion completed his short stallion performance test in 2022 with a jumping-focused final score of 8.44. The commission awarded him an 8.8 for willingness to perform, 8.6 for rideability, and 8.5 for jumping talent and canter. Comanchero passed his sport test with a score of 8.38. Representing the renowned Heida family, he qualified for the Bundeschampionat as a five- and six-year-old under Hendrik Sosath. His dam, Lady Heida II, was featured in the Brillantring in Rastede in 2004 and has already produced four licensed stallions, including Cador by Catoki, Diamant de Landor by Diamant de Semilly, Calandor by Casalido, and Comanchero by Comme Prévu, as well as numerous successful sport horses, including the 2014 OS champion mare Lady Cadora OLD by Catoki.
