Foal Registration Dates in the Netherlands and Belgium

27.06.2024

The foal inspections in the Netherlands and Belgium are just around the corner.

Register your horses for the foal inspections. It is also possible to register mares without foals for inclusion in the studbook. Take advantage of the opportunity to register your horses at an official event. You will receive a linear description of your horses, enabling you to utilize the Oldenburg breeding program in the future. There is also the possibility that mares with their first foal may receive a premium. Foals have the chance to earn a premium title or be honored as elite foals if they are of exceptional quality. Foals can be selected for the Elite Foal Inspection in the fall on October 5th in Vechta at the foal inspections.

The following official dates are offered:
July 10th:
Johann & Ann Verrezen-Rutten, Goorstraat 61, 2470 Retie
July 10th: QC Stables, Beeldstraat 15, 9100 Sint-Niklaas (BEL)
July 11th: Reesink Horses, Molenweg 12, 7151 HA Eibergen
July 11th: Angelique Swinkels-Schenkelaars, T Hof 2, 5737 PA Lieshout

You can register your foals online for the foal inspection via your OL/OS account.

A veterinarian will be present at the foal inspections in the Netherlands to chip the foals.

For the registration of mares without foals at foot, please submit the life number and pedigree.

Do you reside in Belgium? Then your foal must be chipped and sketched by a BCP veterinarian. This does not necessarily need to be done before the foal inspection and functions as follows:

The Oldenburg Studbook provides BCP with a file containing the life number, sex, date of birth, and lineage details of the foal (from the normal birth notification), plus:

Facility number (code for the location), BCP ID number. Information on where to find these can be found in Annex 6, Identifier number. This is the code of the identifier (a veterinarian registered with BCP) who will need to come to register the foals.

We require this information from every Belgian breeder.

A camera team will also be present in St. Niklaas to film the foals, allowing for the possibility to order videos of the foals.
